Support the Boys in Green, Support the Cliona Ring Foundation

As Jedward will be telling you for the next month, it’s time to get your green cape on to show your support for the Boys in Green as they go for glory in Poland and the Ukraine this summer.  And for the many who will be watching from Ireland, why not come on down to Scoby’s Bar, Hospital, Co.Limerick on Sunday 10th June 2012.

Starting at 4pm, there will be a penalty shoot-out, a competition to correctly guess the first goal scorer, a BBQ between 5:30-7:30pm and live on stage will be Bagatelle from 5:30pm. All of this is of course a build up the main event at 7.45pm on the big screen as Trapattoni, Keane, Duff and Co., take on the tricky Croatians in our opening group game of Euro 2012.

So get your green capes on and come down to Scoby’s Bar for some ceol, craic and a lot of football. There will be a prize for the best dressed supporter on the night.

Admission is €10, with a family ticket €20. All proceeds go to the Cliona Ring Foundation.

Headless Horseman Adventure Race 2012

Following on from the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Headless Horseman Adventure Race returns this year on Easter Sunday, 8th April, in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick.

The Headless Horseman event is a 45 mile race in three stages, and this year sees the inclusion of a stage around the scenic and challenging Ballyhoura Mountain trials. The race is seen as a perfect pre-season outing for the adventure racer, cyclist or triathlete. There is also the option as entering as a team.

Single entries are €75, and available to clubs for €60 while team entries are €120, and available to clubs for €96. We are also doing 2 for 1 students discounts on team and single entrants. The Headless Horseman Adventure Race (HHAR) would also like to extend an offer of a 20% discount to people who are taking part in the HHAR. Registrations are still taking place, and to avail of this offer please contact info@hhar.ie for further information.

Participants will also receive a goody bag containing a quality HHAR t-shirt, liquids, gels, some nutrition and a post-race gourmet burger. There will be two transition areas set up on the day to ensure people stay hydrated. Afterwards there will be a fantastic after party where we have street closures to cater for on street entertainment including Hermitage Green and The Strypes.

The HHAR is partnered with the Hope foundation who work with the street children of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta).

For more information email info@hhar.ie or check out our website www.hhar.ie

Also, if anyone is available in the Bruff area between 10.30am and 2pm on Sunday, 8th April, to marshall the event, could you please contact Brendan Ring on 087 2518949

You can find out more about Sophie and her rare condition here.

The CRF/Lough Gur Cycle Group meets every Saturday morning at 8am at the Honey Fitz Theatre Lough Gur for anyone interested in joining us for a cycle. The Wednesday evening cycle will commence the 1st Wednesday of April (time to be agreed) from The Honey Fitz.

The group will be cycling in the 7th Annual (Pat Nolan’s) Charity Cycle in aid of Limerick School for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired on March 24th from Limerick to Killaloe and return.
